A rare mug commemorating the Peterloo massacre showing Henry "Orator' Hunt. Below this portrait, surrounded by emblems of navel warfare, the wording 'NONE OF YOUR BUTCHERING MAGISTRATES'.

The potters rushed out their wares following this horrendous event and used an image of Commodore Bainbridge, a little known American navel commander, as a stand in for Hunt.

Circa 1819

Approx - 2.75 inches (70mm) tall.
